Write it once, next to the work it describes.

Documents that live next to the work they describe.

A Notion-style block editor, an infinite canvas for thinking in shapes, backlinks so nothing gets lost, and a share link for the people who will never log in. All inside the same projects as your tickets and chat.

Why it matters

The spec is only useful if it's where the work is.

Teams don't have a documentation problem; they have a distance problem. The spec lives in a wiki, the ticket lives in a tracker, and the moment they disagree, the ticket wins, because that's what people look at. Six months later the wiki is a museum.

In Tenon a page belongs to a project. It can be linked from a ticket, dropped into a chat channel as a rich card, mentioned by name, and found by the same global search that finds tickets. The Linked Pages panel shows what points at it, so you know a doc is still in use before you edit it.

The editor itself is the part you'd expect: headings, tables, task lists, images, embeds, colour and highlight, sub/superscript, slash commands. It's built on Tiptap, so it's fast and keyboard-first. When words aren't enough, the infinite canvas gives you an endless surface for notes and diagrams.

What you get

Pages, item by item.

Notion-style editor

Headings, tables, task lists, images, embeds, color and highlight, sub/superscript and slash commands. Built on Tiptap.

Icons for every page

Give a page an icon so it is recognisable in the sidebar, in search and in chat.

Page linking & backlinks

Link pages to each other. The Linked Pages panel shows what points here, so nothing gets orphaned.

Infinite canvas

Freeform text notes and diagrams on an endless surface, with its own toolbar and full-screen mode.

@-mentions with peek

Mention a teammate inside a document; a peek modal previews who or what you referenced.

Sharing, inside and out

Share within the workspace, or generate a public link for a client or vendor who will never log in.

My Pages

Every page you own across every project, in one list.

Import Word & PDF

Bring the old spec with you. Mammoth and pdf.js turn files into editable pages.

Built-in product manual

An in-app manual at /docs/manual with callouts, tables, shortcuts and feature lists.

Three ways to share

Inside the team, across the workspace, or out to the world.

Project members

Every page is visible to the project it belongs to, subject to the same row-level rules as everything else.

Workspace share

Share a page with people in other projects without moving it. Backlinks keep the trail intact.

Public link

Generate a /s/:token link for a client, vendor or candidate. Revoke it when you're done. No login, no account.

Infinite canvas

When the idea doesn't fit in a document.

Drop a page, an image, a link, a mini board and a checklist onto an endless surface and arrange them however the thinking goes. Scroll to pan, Ctrl+scroll to zoom, full-screen when you need the whole wall.

  • Rich blocks, not just boxesPages on the canvas are real, editable pages with the full toolbar.
  • Boards inside canvasesSketch a three-column board next to the brief it belongs to.
  • Same sharing rulesA canvas is a page: link it, mention it, share it.

A Tuesday afternoon with Tenon

Turning a 40-page PDF into a living plan before lunch.

The client sends the old vendor's requirements document as a PDF. Sam drops it onto the project. Tenon turns it into a page, with headings, lists and tables intact. She adds a task list at the top, mentions @Leo next to the two sections that need his review, and links the page from the three tickets it spawns.

By 1pm the page is in #client-acme as a card, Leo has ticked his sections, and the client has a public link to the cleaned-up version. Nobody attached anything to an email.

Questions

Common questions.

Is the editor similar to Notion?

Deliberately, yes. Block-based, slash commands, familiar shortcuts. If your team already knows Notion, there is nothing to learn.

What file types can I import?

Word (.docx) via mammoth and PDF via pdf.js. Both become editable, searchable pages. Images inside Word documents are preserved.

Can people outside my organization view a page?

Yes, via a public share link. Public pages are read-only and can be revoked at any time. Everything else requires a login and is governed by row-level security.

What is the infinite canvas for?

Freeform thinking: architecture sketches, retros, mind maps, "let's draw the flow" moments. It has its own toolbar and a full-screen mode, and lives inside the project like any other page.

Is there version history?

Pages keep an edit history within the database you own; per-user activity logs record who changed what and when.
